Statehouse Tour With The Dolphins

11/12/2009 Today we went to the Indiana Statehouse. Before we went in, we had to go through a metal detector for safety. Inside, we	Here are our pictures from our trip to the State House. In the first picture we were listening to our tour guide. In the second one our group is posing on the State House steps.
saw statues made of marble from Italy. We also saw stained glass from Germany in the rotunda. We saw floors made from Indiana marble, and walls made from Indiana limestone. We got to sit in chairs from when the supreme court started in the 1800's and in chairs that senators usually sit in. The ceiling was painted different colors and had gold in some areas. Introduction To The Dolphins!

10/15/2009 Hi! We are the Dolphins! We are group of seven guys who are all friends. We meet every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. We enjoy many activities together. We like getting books from the library, going to museums, feeding the ducks, and going to different parks. We learn about different things like cooking and science experiments. This week we bought pumpkins, went to the park, and took in the OTB recycling. This month's theme is Good Health and keeping our body healthy. This week we learned about bones and food safety. Last week we learned about the food pyramid and healthy eating. We painted pumpkins at art class. We worked on the cabinet to store our group supplies. We danced and used our shakers

that we made before. Next week we're going to a concert at the Arts Garden. Dolphins

9/25/2009 Hi. My name is Jenny Holloway. I’m 52 years old I like to get on my computer and record music videos movies and comedy TV shows on u tube for fun. I’m the oldest one in the Outside the Box group. I like to play sorry in outside the box. I’m bowling for Special Olympics pretty soon. I’m going to be starting a new job working from home watching surveillance tapes on my computer. and I will be getting paid 8 dollars an hour. and I will be getting paid every other week and my bosses name is David and my hours will be from 3pm till 7pm Monday thru Friday and I will be on 90 day probation when I start my new job so that David can see how I do on the job. My Job Search

9/23/2009 My name is Mark. I come to OTB 3 days a week. I work with a job coach. I would like to find a job where I can work with animals. I’m a friendly person. I have a cat and I really like dogs. When I meet with my job coach we work on interview questions, practice applications, resume, and references. I filled out a worksheet about my job preferences. We look for places I would like to work and I have filled out applications at places where I can work with dogs. If you know about any jobs working with animals I would like to know more about them! A Dreamer’s Week at OTB

9/23/2009

On Monday we fed the homeless at Wheeler Mission. We scooped the food out onto the trays and refilled food if it was empty.
On Tuesday we went to the movies with the Dreamers and we had a cooking class and made sandwiches for Anthony’s Birthday Party. We saw Dawn of the Dinosaurs at movies 8 it was 1 ½ hours long. We played games on Tuesday September 22, 2009.
We are going to Ben & Ari’s today with the Dreamers and Celebrities about 11:00 to play some games.

9/17/2009 Welcome to our Blog! We are Outside the Box. We are part of a day programming group for adults with developmental disabilities. We also do job support. Each of our groups gets to choose a group name. The groups at OTB are "The Celebrities", "The Dreamers", and "The Dolphins". We have fun at OTB. We are very hard workers. We help other people and are nice, kind and respectful. We have lots of outings in the community. We like who we are. We will take turns making posts on the blog. We hope you like our blog!
